THE APOSTOLATE OF THE CANONS REGULAR

An abbey must give priority to receiving anyone who knocks at the door for a retreat or the poor who come looking for a meal, or even the spiritually-poor who come looking for spiritual peace and advice for the soul. We already receive retreatants at Lagrasse.

Summer and winter see us busy with groups of students. We work harmoniously with laypeople who have their own share of the work and organisation.

For years, French families have felt the need for more organised doctrinal and spiritual support. They are anxious to counter the abuses of the modern world, the difficulties their children encounter in schools. In summer, parents and children gather in week-long family sessions organised by brave hearted individuals. Our Sisters of the Mother of God take part in these activities, and qualified laity also take part, as well as diocesan priests.
